Funding Progress For Better Outcomes Against Ovarian Cancer
When we did family hikes that were on the more moderate to advanced end, on the way up, MLH would commonly ask for frequent updates on the mileage or length or elevation left to go, sometimes scared or unsure of her ability to go the rest of the way. She would rely on the rest of us to hold her arm in ours and help pull her up the mountain. But when we were on our way down, her attitude would completely change and she would constantly spout words of encouragement to others that were on their incline. Being outdoors, even during treatment periods, was one of her ways to escape and to empower others, showing them that if she can do it, they can too.
